The Role:

At Hoar Cross Hall, we're looking for a Head Waiter / Waitress to join our team and help drive high standards across our restaurant operations.

As a key support to the Restaurant Management team, you'll play a central role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, maintaining exceptional service quality, and training and motivating our Food and Beverage Assistants to meet and exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests.
  • Support and motivate team members to maintain high service standards.
  • Assist in planning and overseeing daily restaurant operations, including opening/closing duties and cleaning schedules.
  • Monitor quality, guest feedback, and staffing levels.
  • Assist with training and development of new and existing team members.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards (including COSHH and PPE usage).
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness, atmosphere, and presentation.
  • Record any complimentary items and wastage accurately.
  • Ensure all customer special requests and dietary requirements are managed with care and attention.
  • Stay informed on current menus and ingredients.
  • Uphold company uniform and appearance standards.

Personal Specification:
Essential:

  • Proven experience in a food and beverage or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, team-first attitude.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • A commitment to high standards of service, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Confidence in managing guest complaints professionally and effectively.
  • A passion for training and developing others.

Shift Pattern:

  • Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
  • Shifts are spread across 5 days a week, including weekends
  • Full flexibility is required, as shifts will adapt based on team and business needs
