Job summary

inspiring vet care at Virginia Water Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to lead the nursing team and set high standards of care. The role focuses on clinical leadership, governance, and staff development within a busy small animal practice.

You will oversee theatre, inpatient care and nurse consultations, mentoring colleagues and students while maintaining excellent client service. This is a full-time, on-site position with a 40-hour week and a 4/5 rota including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Significant experience in clinical practice with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record mentoring nursing teams and students.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the nursing team, upholding high clinical standards.
• Oversee day-to-day back-of-house clinical areas and theatre nursing.
• Deliver hands-on nursing care and nurse consultations; support clinical governance.
