Job description

Medivet Bamber Bridge is seeking a confident and forward-thinking Head Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and experienced team in a dynamic role that offers significant impact. This full-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and wants to contribute to the growth and evolution of our practice.

Our Bamber Bridge practice, also known as Withy Grove Vets, is an award-winning clinic located in a vibrant suburban area with excellent connections to Manchester, Liverpool, the Lake District, and local countryside. It provides a rewarding clinical environment with a great lifestyle.

You will join a team of six vets, including a three-time surgery certificate holder, supported by a dedicated nursing and support team and a Practice Manager. We pride ourselves on high standards of care and building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

The practice is well-equipped with advanced surgical and diagnostic tools, including laparoscopy, endoscopy, TTA kit, patella luxation equipment, ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, capnography, and ventilators. Although the building has a traditional, rustic feel, we see this as an opportunity for someone to help shape and improve the environment and lead the practice into a new era.

We offer a compassionate service to a loyal client base and are passionate about mentoring and team development. This role offers autonomy, growth opportunities, and the chance to mentor peers, making it ideal for someone eager to make a difference and be part of our future.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ UK experience as a qualified Veterinary Nurse, with clinical coaching experience being a bonus. A collaborative attitude and willingness to support the team are essential.

This is a 40-hour per week role, including 1 in 6 weekends at the nearby Chorley 24-hour hospital. We are investing in our team and facilities, and this is a great time to join us on our journey forward.
