You will join a team that offers the chance to further your experience, focus on a particular skill set, and work in a supportive environment.

Why Us

Polmont and Grangemouth vets have been a part of the surrounding community for many years and strive to be a practice that understands its clients and patients needs. Polmont is a modern, purpose-built facility in Scotland, with a wide range of facilities to enable the best in animal care. We invest in our practices to stay up to date with the latest in pet health while prioritising a well-managed diary and positive culture. We are passionate about animal care and ensuring pets receive the best possible veterinary healthcare. Team engagement and regular team practice meetings are an important part of the role and the practice success. The team is sociable and welcoming; the practices are centrally located between Edinburgh and Glasgow with good transport links.

The Role

As head nurse you will support the Practice Director with driving overall practice productivity. You will lead a nursing team of 4 RVNs and 2 SVNs, with a focus on clinical supervising experience, encouraging team members to reach their full potential, utilising the nurse career pathways, and fostering a positive and collaborative culture across the practice. You will support driving various clinical and non-clinical projects and initiatives, PSS compliance, RPS responsibilities, and Health & Safety.

What We Are Looking For

As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the practice. We are looking for someone who combines strong clinical knowledge with excellent leadership skills, ensuring operational efficiency across nursing duties, theatre preparation, inpatient care and stock control. You will be responsible for supporting and developing the nursing team while fostering a positive, proactive working environment. Previous experience in a leadership role is advantageous; however, this role could also suit an experienced RVN ready to take the next step in their career.
