Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

As Head Therapist, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the following:

  • Have thorough knowledge and ability to perform spa menu face and body treatments according to Six Senses Spa standards.
  • Provide comprehensive training to all hosts, ensuring they acquire necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively and align with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are always stocked with supplies as per standards.
  • Recommend treatments and products based on lifestyle consultation forms and assessment questions asked to guests.
  • Provide departmental orientation to newly recruited hosts.
  • Evaluate operations and procedures, suggesting improvements to Spa Management.
  • Request and log stock of supplies necessary for treatment rooms.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and accurate service to guests at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene of the spa and treatment rooms.
  • Uphold Six Senses guidelines and standards of service and operation, maintaining and exceeding performance benchmarks.
  • Strictly adhere to LQA standards and guest comments.

Qualifications

To succeed as Head Therapist, you must have the necessary qualifications, skills, and experience in a similar role within luxury hotels, with proven results, including:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 3 years’ experience in luxury spas and health clubs, with references. A hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized institution is preferred.
  • Graduation or broad knowledge of anatomy, physiology, massage therapy, and beauty therapy, with NVQ, ITEC, or CIDESCO certification.
  • Understanding and specialization in various beauty products, aesthetic appliances, and their specifications and uses. Knowledge of facial, nail, or other beauty technology as required for spa treatments.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are preferred.
