Aberdeen City Council is seeking an educational leader to oversee the management of school affairs, ensuring the delivery of quality education in alignment with strategic goals. The role requires strong engagement with the community and adherence to local and national educational standards. Candidates must have Full GTC Registration and are expected to assist in maintaining a positive learning environment, making it suitable for individuals passionate about education.
Please note that, effective from 1 April 2023, candidates applying for roles requiring PVG membership will be responsible for the cost of the PVG membership. This policy applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above, including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour).
The Council will initially cover the PVG membership costs—£18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members—and this amount will be deducted from the employee's first full month’s salary.
The role involves leading and managing the school’s affairs to ensure the delivery of quality education through the engagement of pupils, staff, parents, multidisciplinary agencies, and the community. This will be aligned with the authority’s strategic plan, the school’s improvement plans, national improvement framework drivers, current legislation, and local agreements.
