St Ronan's Primary has a full-time, permanent Head Teacher position starting August 2025.

We seek an experienced, motivated individual with an excellent track record in school management, strong interpersonal and leadership skills. The candidate should be capable of developing and leading the school, supporting our commitment to provide a high-quality learning environment where all pupils can achieve their full potential.

Assessment Centre - Thursday, 4th September 2025

Interview Date - Tuesday, 9th September 2025

Requirements

Please ensure the Head Teacher's report template attached to this advert is completed by your Head Teacher and uploaded with your application before the closing date. Upload your Head Teacher Report in the 'COVER LETTER' section of the application. A cover letter is not required.

For Vacancies at Denominational Schools:

  • Evidence of Catholic Church Approval - Applicants must seek Catholic Church approval when submitting their application. A copy of the approval should be provided to the Chair of the Panel before the interview. If pending, confirmation of submission will be sought from the Church Representative.
  • Denominational Primary Posts - Candidates must hold the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate. Forms and further information are available from the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES) website.

Responsibilities

This role involves Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Membership with the PVG scheme is required, or a PVG Scheme update check must be completed before a formal offer is made.

The employment is excepted from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions, including spent ones, as failure to do so could lead to dismissal or disciplinary action.
