A leading educational institution in East Lothian is seeking a shared Head Teacher for Innerwick and Stenton Primary Schools. The role involves managing both schools, ensuring alignment with council objectives, and fostering community engagement. Candidates must hold Full GTCS Registration and be prepared for PVG membership requirements. The post of shared Head Teacher, Innerwick and Stenton Primary Schools serves the school communities of both Innerwick and Stenton. The schools are small rural schools situated in the East Lothian countryside, 8 miles apart. Both schools are non-denominational and co-educational, teaching pupils from P1 - P7.
Innerwick Primary School has a nursery offering 1140 hours; Stenton Primary does not have a nursery class. Both schools have active Parent Councils and play key roles in their communities, working closely as partner schools.
Successful candidates will be recruited to a permanent post if they already have a substantive HT post and/or hold the Standard for Headship (via SQH or Into Headship). Candidates yet to achieve the Standard for Headship will be offered a temporary contract until they complete the mandatory Into Headship programme within 30 months of appointment.

The Head Teacher's role involves managing both schools to benefit pupils and communities, aligning with objectives and policies set by East Lothian Council under the guidance of the Executive Director, Education and Children's Services.

Relevant Qualifications: Full GTCS Registration is required.
PVG Membership: This role is considered regulated with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as per the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
Preferred candidates will need to become or update their PVG Scheme membership before an official offer is made.
