The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Head Teacher for Murrayburn Primary School. Note: Shortlisted candidates will participate in a virtual assessment centre consisting of three written tasks.
The Standard for Headship is now a mandatory requirement for this position. If the selected candidate does not meet this requirement, the position may be offered on a temporary basis for up to 30 months, during which the individual can achieve the Into Headship qualification. A permanent contract will only be offered upon successful completion of this course. If it becomes evident that the qualification will not be attained within this period, the contract will be terminated with appropriate notice, and the temporary Head Teacher will revert to a DHT1 post available across the city.
Salaries will adhere to the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join or update the PVG Scheme and may require an Overseas Criminal Record Check if they have spent more than three months outside the UK in the last five years. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment checks.
