Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting a Head Steward at Gaza Barracks, Officers Mess, Catterick Garrison. You will manage bar operations during your shift, mix and serve drinks, keep the area clean and stocked, and report to the General Manager on site.

The role requires UK residence for 3+ years, right to work in the UK, and the ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks. Training and apprenticeship schemes are provided to support career progression.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in a Mess in an operational role.
• Good numerical and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Must have eligibility to work in the UK and have resided for longer than 3 years. Security checks are required.
• Must have reliable transport due to the location.

Responsibilities

• Supervise services within the Mess operational business area.
• Accountability for the effective supervision and performance of frontline colleagues within the mess, ensuring delivery of steward services to the required standard.
• Assist with function preparation as directed by the mess manager i.e. silver cleaning, dining room layout, napkins etc.
• Completion of company paperwork.
• Reception duties & messing.
• Cash handling and till operation.

Pay rate: £13.05 per hour (£23,838.69)
Contract type: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday (with some holiday/sick cover and functions)
Shift times: 0800 - 1530

Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Head Steward to be a part of our integral team at Gaza Barracks.

As the Head Steward, you will manage the bars' operations throughout your shift. You will be mixing and serving drinks whilst keeping the bar area clean and fully stocked. You will always provide excellent customer service and report to the General Manager on site.

To be eligible for this role, due to the sector requirements: you must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and have legal right to work in the UK and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
