Job summary

Acelero Learning is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher to support a Head Start classroom with 14–20 children aged 3 to 4. You will collaborate with one other teacher to ensure smooth operation across locations when coverage is needed.

You’ll follow the curriculum, design engaging literacy, print, and numeracy activities, maintain a safe environment, support social-emotional development, and engage families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences that advance literacy, phonemic awareness, print and numeracy development.
• Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment with appropriate adult-child ratio.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance.
• Interacts with children in a supportive manner.
• Encourages family involvement in Head Start.
• Works effectively with other teachers.
• Follows center policies on health, safety, nutrition, and operations.
• Attends meetings, events and training as required.
