Job summary

Stir seeks a Chef Manager to lead the on-site school catering team, driving profitability, menu excellence, and staff development while delivering high-quality meals for students and staff.

This role is Monday to Friday, 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, at £13.39 per hour. A mandatory enhanced DBS disclosure is required, with opportunities for apprenticeships and training available to all staff.

Qualifications

• Strong working financial understanding of gross profit management.
• Experience in managing a team and fostering exceptional teamwork.
• Craft-based experience using fresh ingredients.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices in a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Drive financial performance of the catering operation and control costs to maximise profitability.
• Lead the preparation of nutritious, high-quality meals and oversee menu development.
• Lead, coach, and motivate staff to ensure a five-star dining experience for students and staff.
• Drive sales growth through monthly promotions and added-value events.
• Ensure compliance with all procedures and relevant legislation; conduct regular audits.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and customers on site.
