Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated team at Ardene House Vet Practice, Kingswells Hospital.

Your New Role

At Ardene, each day offers something new, providing a dynamic and diverse work environment. Your key responsibilities will include nurse consults, providing inpatient care, assisting our vets with both surgical and non-surgical procedures, and conducting diagnostic and dental x-rays. Additionally, you'll be involved in laboratory analysis, as well as assisting with ultrasounds, CT scans, endoscopy, and supporting laparoscopic procedures. Our nurses are also actively involved in Schedule 3 procedures, and we are keen to expand this responsibility further.

As an accredited training practice, we are proud to support SVNs, VCAs, and Vet students through their training, and we can offer clinical coach training or refreshers for those interested in taking on this role.

Work with an Advanced Team

Our main practice is located in the scenic outskirts of Kingswells, Aberdeen, offering both small animal and equine veterinary care, and serving as the base for our farm vets. We also have a branch surgery in Bridge of Don, providing companion animal care to the local community.

We are proud to have a team of skilled professionals, including surgical and medical certificate holders. Our practice collaborates with leading specialists who regularly visit to offer specialised clinics in cardiology, dermatology, and pain management. Recently, we have welcomed Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals, who provide orthopaedic and internal medicine referrals within our modern facility.

We cultivate a culture of continuous professional development (CPD) and specialisation, supporting our team in pursuing certificates and advanced studies, all fully funded by the practice. Our spacious, purpose-built premises in Kingswells are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and ample parking for staff and clients alike.

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, between 7:30 am and 7:30 pm, with one Saturday in every eight weeks. Time off in lieu will be provided for any weekends worked.

We are open to discussing part-time and flexible working options.
