Job description

We have an unmissable opportunity for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our diverse and friendly team at Bristol Imperial Vets for Pets, a well-established locally owned practice.

Your Role:
Reporting into our experienced Practice Manager, you'll work closely together in ensuring the smooth running of the practice, as well as having direct line management responsibility for our team of 3 RVNs, 1 student nurse, and 2 VCAs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage the nursing team, ensuring high standards of care.
  2. Collaborate with veterinarians to maximize efficiencies and promote continuous quality improvement.
  3. Oversee the processing of blood samples, catheters, stitch ups, dental scales and polishes, x-rays, and monitoring anaesthetics.
  4. Manage nurse clinics and in-patient care.

Position Details:
This is a full-time position of 40 hours a week but happy to negotiate to a minimum of 35 hours a week, including just 1 in 5 weekends and no OOH, no on calls, and no back up rotas - your time off is your time off!
