Royston Town FC is seeking a passionate Head Physiotherapist for the 2025/26 season. The role involves managing player injuries, providing medical cover during matches, and collaborating with coaches. HOURS: Tues/Thurs evenings. Sat Day times. Note: hours vary
An opportunity to become an integral part of our management team has arisen as we look to add a Head Physiotherapist for the 2025/26 season and beyond.
The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about football, and their work, and is keen to work at a club that is aspiring to achieve.
We are looking for someone that is both competent and confident in leading our Physio Dept, so previous experience in a similar role will be our preference. You must also be able to commit to our training/match schedule,
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Management Of Injuries
• To provide accurate assessment, diagnosis, and injury management to all players, ensuring best evidence-based practice is always followed.
• Work alongside other members of the playing department to design and implement effective, age and maturation specific screening and injury prevention strategies.
• To arrange external investigations and treatment as required.
Medical Provision At Matches & Training
• To provide match day/training medical cover as required, both home and away.
• To maintain and implement an emergency action plan.
• To assist in the checking and maintenance of all medical equipment.
Communication
• To maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding player availability/injury updates, as necessary.
• To develop and maintain relationships with external contacts.
Other Responsibilities
• To assist with warmups, cool downs and individual/squad conditioning sessions as required.
• Other relevant duties as determined by the Manager.
• To co-ordinate and contribute to any medical in-service training at the Club.
• To lead in the education of all players and parents as required (i.e., injury prevention, recovery etc.)
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
• Physiotherapy/Osteopathy/Sports Rehabilitation or Sports Therapy Degree
• Previous experience of working in a sporting environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties (i.e., coaches, players, parents, external medical contacts etc.)
• Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Display a high level of professionalism at all times.
• Highly motivated, with a passion for working within a football setting.
• Utmost confidentiality always.
• Enhanced DBS Check.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
• Pitch side Trauma Qualification, such as the FA Level 3 in First Aid or equivalent.
• Experience of working in football, or a full-time sporting environment

Royston Town FC, nicknamed "The Crows", was formed in 1875 and are the third oldest club in Hertfordshire. Our Men's First Team plays in the Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Central Division - Step 3 of the non-league football pyramid. We also have an Under 23's side and an Under 18's side. Our successful Women's team play in the Eastern Region Women's Football League Premier Division - Step 5 of the Women's football pyramid.
