Location Egerton Training Ground and The J.Davidson Stadium, Moss Lane; travel to all first team matches, pre-season tour etc. as required.

After eight years of progress on and off the pitch we are currently battling to win promotion from the National League to the EFL for the first time in our 134-year history.
About the Role | Altrincham FC is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and dedicated Head Physiotherapist to lead and manage all aspects of physiotherapy and sports medicine for our First Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries, ensuring optimal player availability and performance. This is a pivotal role within our football department, working closely with the First Team Manager and coaching staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for medical welfare, including injury assessment and rehabilitation for all Altrincham FC first-team players.
- Maintain an accurate and comprehensive database of treatment and work with all Altrincham FC first-team players, including current medical status, medical notes, and recordings of rehabilitation or gym sessions
- To provide the appropriate examination, assessment, and treatment of first-team players when required, including the referral to internal and external medical professionals.
- Where appropriate, assist and liaise with the club's strength and conditioning coach
- Collaboration towards the development and implementation of prehab and rehab programmes with the Head of Performance for all Altrincham FC first-team players
- Work and communicate with other support staff within the club, including doctors/sports scientists and interns to provide an integrated approach to injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement
- Organise and mentor interns through networks and develop staff and volunteers
- CPD sessions delivered to staff and volunteers
- Hold documented weekly meetings with medical and strength and conditional (SNC) staff
- Stock-take and place orders for medical equipment within budget
- Drive the department forward in line with organisational goals and excellence.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- Current membership of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
- Valid Pitchside Trauma Certificate (e.g., IMMOFP, ATMMiF, or equivalent recognised by the FA)
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a qualified physiotherapist in a professional football environment (e.g., Category 3 Academy or above, or National League / EFL First Team environment)
- Demonstrable experience in assessing, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating musculoskeletal injuries
- Full UK Driving License
- MSc in Sports Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine, or a related field
- Experience with sports science software and data analysis.
