A leading council in East Lothian is seeking a dedicated individual for a temporary position within its waste management team. The role entails managing litter and waste services as well as grounds maintenance. Candidates should possess relevant horticultural qualifications and experience in pesticide application. Salary: £32,873 - £35,593 per year
Contract Type: Temporary

Hours: 37 hours per week
Hourly rate of pay: £17.04 - £18.45
Temporary until 1st May 2026.
Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday, 07:30-16:00
Friday, 07:30-12:30
To start asap.
Responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of the front-line litter and waste management service including fly tipping and dog fouling control and removal, and delivery of all grounds maintenance related services.

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to HNC or SQA Level 3 in Horticulture or related discipline and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
Pesticide application certificate (PA1/PA2 and/or PA6 and/or PA9).
Trained in use of specialist powered ride on equipment H&S training.
Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is essential to manage the workload of this post*
