The role will be responsible for overseeing the management of a number of Workplace Services contracts, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and alignment with organisational objectives.
These contracts include (but are not limited to) Hard FM, Soft FM, Catering and Operational Security across the national portfolio. The numbers and types of contracts will flex with business needs.
The role requires a proactive approach to managing supplier contract relationships, optimising performance, and mitigating risks associated with contractual and service delivery obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives related to contract management and delivery.
Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on Workplace Services contract-related matters and internal projects.
Contract Oversight:
Oversee the entire lifecycle of contracts from award through to demobilisation, ensuring they are compliant and within the contractual and commercial requirements.
Establish and maintain effective processes for monitoring contract performance and compliance.
Relationship Management:
Foster strong strategic relationships with stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, cross departmental and internal teams, to ensure effective collaboration and partnership.
Establish effective Supplier Relationship Management, acting as the primary point of contact for major suppliers, addressing issues and facilitating resolution.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess risks associated with contract delivery, implementing strategies to mitigate those risks.
Ensure appropriate mitigation and contingency plans are in place.
Performance Evaluation:
Develop and implement performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of contract delivery.
Conduct regular reviews and audits of contract performance, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Implement controls and practices, improve financial savings quality and deliverables - drive the savings - linked to continuous improvement.
Team Leadership:
Manage, motivate, and develop a team of contract management professionals, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Provide operational leadership to members of the Commercial team working on WS contracts.
Ensure that team members receive necessary training and capability through development opportunities.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and present reports on contract delivery performance to senior management and stakeholders.
Analyse data to identify trends and inform decision-making processes.
Compliance:
Ensure all contract management activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and governmental and cross departmental policies, implementing best practice and following through on audit contributions.
Stay up to date with changes in legislation affecting contract management and delivery.
