Head of Warehouse - Multi-Site Operations

£72,000-£75,000 (DOE) Benefits inc Private Medical Bonus

Staffordshire/Gloucestershire

Are you an experienced warehouse leader ready to drive cultural change, embed operational excellence, and shape the future of a multi-site distribution model?

We're recruiting on behalf of a rapidly scaling, private equity-backed rental business serving major names in the retail, events, hospitality, and infrastructure sectors. This is a rare opportunity to step into a strategic leadership role, overseeing complex warehousing operations across four sites in the UK and Spain.

This isn't a conventional warehousing job. It's not pick-and-pack, left-and-shift, or automated fulfilment. It's a hands-on, high-accountability role managing bulky, high-value assets in a reverse logistics environment, where service levels and turnaround speed are everything.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and transform warehouse operations across Staffordshire, Gloucestershire and Spain (majority focus is on UK sites), standardising best practices and embedding compliance, service, and safety.
  • Redesign layout, flow, and space utilisation for a wide range of refrigeration and catering equipment, optimising refurb, cleaning and stock turnaround.
  • Embed robust KPI frameworks, improve stock visibility, and support the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (ERP/WMS).
  • Implement standardised processes for cleaning (jet wash & acid bath), quality control, engineering maintenance, and safe manual handling.
  • Create a collaborative, accountable culture, managing site-specific legacies, complex personalities, and siloed behaviours.
  • Interface with project managers, asset teams, and engineering to plan high-volume deployments, often at short notice for key client rollouts.

What Makes This Role Unique:

  • A key figure in the transformation of warehousing strategy, with autonomy and influence across UK and EU operations.
  • Hands-on responsibility for warehouse performance, without the distraction of transport or third-party logistics.
  • High-visibility role supporting a £120M turnover PE-backed business scaling at 20% year-on-year growth.
  • Direct input into operational budgets, resource planning, warehouse technology, and site expansion strategies.

Ideal Candidate Snapshot:

  • Proven success leading multi-site warehouse operations, ideally in rental, refurbishment, service-based, or reverse logistics environments.
  • Highly credible and resilient, able to challenge the status quo, reset cultural norms, and drive behavioural change.
  • Experienced in leading continuous improvement, operational audits, warehouse redesign, and team structure optimisation.
  • Comfortable managing warehouse ERP/WMS processes (ideally Dynamics 365), inventory flow, and manual operations under pressure.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Staffordshire and accessible to Gloucestershire (ideally along the M5/M6 corridor).
  • Bonus:
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Mileage Reimbursement

Company Overview:

The company is a global leader in specialist rental solutions, providing refrigerated display equipment and commercial kitchen infrastructure across the UK, EU, Middle East, and North America. They supply mission-critical rental solutions for leading supermarkets, catering providers, event organisers, and more.

Their strategic agenda includes international growth, operational transformation, and customer service enhancement-all of which depend on strong warehousing leadership.

Ready to take the reins and build something better?

This role will suit someone who thrives in complexity, relishes ownership, and has the resilience and credibility to embed change. Apply now and become the operational game-changer this high-growth organisation needs.

Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to travel between sites in Staffordshire, Gloucestershire, and Spain (monthly).
