About the role

We’re looking for a Head of UX Engineering to lead the development of user-facing systems at Hyperlayer. This is a hands-on leadership role managing both web and mobile app developers, and ensuring that our customer-facing applications are performant, intuitive, and beautifully engineered. You’ll sit within the Engineering organization and drive the development of innovative experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate design concepts into production-ready, scalable applications in close collaboration with Product Design.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of web and mobile engineers working across React (web) and Flutter (mobile).
• Define and enforce best practices for front-end architecture, performance optimization, accessibility, and security.
• Stay hands-on, setting technical direction, solving complex engineering problems, and setting the standard for high-quality delivery.
• Partner with Backend Engineering, Product, and Operations to deliver cohesive, end-to-end product experiences.
• Ensure consistency across platforms, so that web and mobile experiences feel seamless and aligned.
• Advocate for the user within Engineering - making usability and design fidelity core priorities alongside robustness and resilience.

You should apply if you have

• Proven experience managing and scaling cross-platform engineering teams (web + mobile).
• Deep technical expertise in React and Flutter, with a strong track record of building high-performance applications.
• Strong grasp of intuitive user interfaces, and the ability to work effectively with Product Design.
• Excellent communication skills — able to explain technical trade-offs to engineers, designers, and business stakeholders alike.
• Experience delivering enterprise-grade applications with high availability, resilience, and security.
• Familiarity with regulated industries (finance, healthcare, insurance, etc.) is a strong plus.
• A hands-on leader who thrives at the intersection of management, architecture, and implementation.
