Job description

Arthur is partnered with a growing Global MGA who is recruiting a Head of Underwriting Services to lead their team.

This pivotal role ensures that underwriting support functions are performed efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

As a key leader in the business, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality service delivery, driving continuous process improvements, and supporting growth and risk management strategies. You’ll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to enhance workflows, enable operational excellence, and ensure a seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the underwriting processing team.
  • Oversee the full underwriting lifecycle from submission to issuance.
  • Ensure delivery against SLAs and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with all departments including underwriting, risk, compliance, and IT.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations.
  • Lead automation and digital transformation efforts.
  • Recruit, train, and develop high-performing support staff.
  • Manage operational risks and resolve escalated issues.
  • Support other business needs as required.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of senior operational experience within the insurance industry, ideally with experience in an MGA environment. They will possess a deep understanding of insurance operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management, along with strong expertise in leading and developing high-performing teams.
