Head of Treasury & Payments Operations

Permanent position

Full time office based role

Salary £100k circa plus benefits

Main responsibilities will include;

• To manage the daily operations within Treasury Operations department with the responsibility for the process of Treasury-orientated transactions and payment to ensure the highest level of service is provided to all internal and external customers and support to Head of Operations with strategic transformation projects as per Group Priority.
• Digital Transformation Projects: Lead and manage digital transformation projects aimed at improving the customer experience and optimizing treasury operations
• Contributes to the identification of opportunities for strategic change (Group and Local level) designed to rationalise operational activities and deliver quality customer service experience whilst maximising the efficient and effective use of resources.
• Time pressured and intense work requiring accuracy and analytical skills with decision making
• The job will primarily be focused on building a high performing team supported by class leading operational practices in order to deliver an efficient and effective operating model that can be replicated as required across other Group Operations teams.
• The job holder will provide effective and inspiring leadership and need to exhibit a ‘can do’ attitude, a passion for delivering change and willingness to challenge the status quo.
• The job holder will be expected to work with other internal units and senior / key stakeholders to ensure that operational activities and associated change programs are aligned to the Group’s strategic objectives whilst managing risks to within the established Group risk appetite

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;

• A minimum of 10 years Treasury administration experience within a managerial capacity
• A minimum of 5 years’ Experience as a Deputy Head of Treasury in a comparable institution responsible for team development and strategic change initiatives.
• Solid Knowledge of wide range of Treasury Products and Settlement
• Good level of Mathematical and Statistical understanding
• Excellent understanding of the principals of Business Continuity, process re-engineering and project management.
• A solid understanding of Lean or Six Sigma tools and methodologies is also desirable.
• Articulate and easy to understand with strong interpersonal skills. Checks others’ understanding in response to enquiries / situations.
• Produces clear and concise reports and other written material which are understandable to those with our without knowledge of the subject.
• Comfortable using IT systems and extracting, manipulating and formatting data.
• Ability to work under pressure, with strong time management skills and proven track record in planning, managing and prioritising own and teams’ work.
• Excellent verbal, written communication & presentation skills
• Great computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of Swift message formatting
• Proven ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff
