We are currently recruiting the following :
Position Summary: Head of Transport to join our public sector client in Bannvale, Gilford, Co Down

  • Pay Rate: £23.60 per hour
  • Hours: 37.5 hours/week
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of transportation services for service users and non-patient needs across multiple departments.
  • Provide operational oversight of various transport divisions, ensuring strategic goals are achieved through cross-functional collaboration and collective leadership.
  • Offer strategic direction and long-term support for disability services planning and reform.
  • Coordinate departmental activities across designated areas, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance with health, safety, and transport laws.
  • Maintain vehicle servicing, safety testing, and repair schedules in accordance with DVLNI, HSE, and Operators Licence regulations.
  • Oversee financial management related to taxis (both contracted and non-contracted) and volunteer driver operations.
  • A degree or relevant professional qualification plus a minimum of 1 year’s experience in management OR A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role
  • Valid CPC certificate in Road Haulage and/or Passenger Transport (Applicants with only one must obtain the second after starting. Preference given to those holding both.)
  • Track record of meeting performance targets and achieving measurable improvements for at least 2 years
  • Experience working collaboratively with varied stakeholders for at least 1 year
  • At least 1 year of people management experience, covering direct staff oversight, governance, and organisational responsibilities
  • Full driving license
