Head of Therapeutic Services | 7843 | fixed term contract until 31 March 2027 | 37 hours per week | £64,089 to £71,512 per annum | Grade N | Norwich

Norfolk County Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced manager and leader to join our team as the Head of Therapeutic Services. This pivotal role is responsible for leading and developing the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, and systemically informed specialist and therapeutic services across Childrens Social Care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop therapeutic services to align with the Family Help Service strategic objectives, national standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior managers, service leads, and external partners to ensure cohesive service delivery.
  • Oversee the performance, quality, and governance of therapeutic services, ensuring they meet the needs of service users, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic direction for therapeutic services, including managing direct reports and system-wide initiatives.
  • Develop creative service provision solutions to meet the emerging needs of the family help service.
  • Offer strategic leadership on therapeutic service provision to the Family Help Service, addressing issues such as child mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse.
  • Foster joint working practices and influence opportunities in therapeutic service provision.
  • Provide oversight for staff by aligning goals and objectives across the Family Help Service and encouraging collaboration and communication.
  • Ensure the effective utilisation of therapeutic resources across the Family Help Service.
  • Maintain consistency and best practices across therapeutic disciplines.
  • Work with internal and external commissioning partners to provide effective therapeutic approaches to all cohorts within the Family Help Service, meeting needs at the earliest opportunity and avoiding escalation.
About You
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams and services.
  • Strong strategic leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based services to children, adults, and families.
  • Experience in addressing issues such as child mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse is desirable.
