About the role
As Head of Technology Strategy & Operating Model, I drive the definition, socialisation, and implementation of an overarching technology strategy and the associated core end-to-end technology operating model. My team and I work across a broad set of senior stakeholders within Technology and the broader business to ensure a strategic balance between centralised governance and decentralised strategy development and execution. Beyond shaping compelling content for diverse audiences, I focus on driving measurable improvements in Technology's overall effectiveness, ensuring our strategy and operating model deliver tangible business value.

You will be responsible for

1. Technology Strategy: Develop and lead the Technology Strategy framework, collaborating with the leadership team to ensure a federated approach, with strategic topics owned by relevant teams.
2. Partner with Business Strategy & Planning to align and evolve the Technology Strategy with the overall business strategy.
3. Create and maintain strategic content, ensuring alignment with the framework and balancing centrally versus locally-owned strategy.
4. Embed strategic guidance into processes, decisions, and communications across teams.

Operating Model:

1. Define and maintain a high-level framework for how Technology describes and understands its ways of working, ensuring alignment with the Technology Strategy.
2. Lead the development and refinement of the operating model to meet evolving needs, fostering adaptability and scalability.
3. Manage materials, education, and governance using a federated approach, balancing centrally defined elements and local flexibility.
4. Lead initiatives related to improving understanding and significant change activities.

Leadership:

1. Lead the practices of Technology Strategy and Operating Model, ensuring their operation and development drive transformational impact.
2. Align practices with adjacent functions within and outside the Directorate.
3. Track and review the value delivered by these practices, optimizing based on business needs.

You will need

• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence effectively across functions and locations.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
• Adaptability and agility to switch seamlessly between contexts.
• Proficiency in adopting a coaching and consultative approach.

Experience relevant for this job

• Extensive experience in owning, driving, and delivering Technology Strategy over 3-5 years.
• Experience in defining and transforming Technology operating models across multiple countries and cultures.
• Proven ability to leverage data to design, implement, and evaluate strategies and operating models.
• Success in managing a broad, complex agenda with resilience and adaptability.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
