We are seeking an experienced Head of Technology Platforms to join our Group Technology Team in Milton Keynes. You will lead the delivery of Connells Group's Technology Platforms, overseeing design, capacity, support, configuration management and governance. As Head of Technology Platforms, manage a team of specialists across enterprise platforms (cloud, on-premises, networking, automation, integration, operational monitoring), coordinate with internal and external partners, mentor staff, and enhance processes. This role ensures robust, scalable, and secure technology platforms align with business objectives using customer centric approach.

Head of Technology Platforms Responsibilities
  • Support the alignment between business, technology teams and platform teams.
  • Proactively manage all platforms, performance and resolution processes.
  • Set the technical roadmaps for technology platforms.
  • Evolve and champion continual improvement practices.
  • Analyse technology trends and disruptions, evaluating their implications for business objectives.
  • Communicate and visualise the future state of architecture to facilitate long-term planning.
  • Support various operating models, including both customer-centric and product-centric approaches.
Key Responsibilities
  • Line management of direct and indirect reports, ensuring delivery of design, project, operational, and change workloads.
  • Act as subject matter expert for technology platforms, providing thought leadership to enable flexible, secure, and efficient working for all employees.
  • Maintain platform availability, performance and capacity, managing critical downtime and risk of disruption.
  • Lead robust incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution, ensuring a 24x7x365 operational support model as required.
  • Ensure industry frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and design principles are established, creating governance for safe, secure, and reliable platforms.
  • Oversee day-to-day contract management for long-term service contracts associated with technology platforms.
  • Deputise for the Director of Enterprise Architecture and Technology as required.
Experience and Skills Required
  • Demonstrable Experience in similar relevant technical managerial roles or broad experience and proven success in a networking and cloud/ on-prem compute.
  • Strong experience of incident resolution, requests, changes and problem-solving activities delivered to agreed SLAs
  • Professionally qualified within Networking and or appropriate Data Centre/ cloud compute technologies
  • Extensive experience of implementing, managing and supporting solutions in a demanding environment
  • Experience working with telecom networks across large national infrastructures including 24x7x365 operational SLA's and criticality
