We are seeking a newly created position to ensure Lloyd’s can quantify and respond to large and reputational risk events, both current and emerging. As the subject matter expert, this individual will provide trusted advice to the Director of Claims, leading all technical claims aspects and being the first point of contact at Lloyd’s for claims matters requiring escalation. This highly visible role involves:

1. Developing and managing a large loss protocol that includes:

• Triggers of large and sensitive events (commercial/reputational)
• Coordination of contributions from Legal, Reserving, Exposure Management, Underwriting, etc.
• An assumption-based approach to determine likely outcomes
• Concise communication of key drivers/messages to the appropriate audience at the right time

Representing Claims with key stakeholder groups to:

• Inform decisions on strategy, business planning, new entrants, and products

Harnessing intelligence from relationships with global industry decision makers to overlay macro influences such as commercial and political factors.

Focusing on emerging risks by:

• Developing intelligence streams for risk identification
• Providing regular reports and deep dive analyses

Building relations with industry groups like the LMA to monitor market responses to significant events, vendor performance, and lessons learned.

To succeed in this technical role, you should have cross-class experience, particularly involving large dispute resolution in the US, UK, and Europe. An extensive network of contacts within global insurers, advisors, brokers, and managing agents is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic, political, and climatic market impacts.
