Job summary

Summer-Browning Associates Ltd is seeking a Head of Technical Architecture for a Central Government client in London, on a 6-month contract with hybrid working. The role requires designing and launching AI-enabled digital architectures and leading high-performing technical teams across locations.

We expect strong expertise in cloud technologies, open-source tooling, TDD, CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud security architecture.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and launching AI-enabled digital product architectures.
• Strong software development and application architecture experience with cloud and open-source tech.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading agile, high-performing technical teams across locations.
• Practical knowledge of modern serverless stacks from frontend to infrastructure.
• Understanding of TDD, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of cloud security architecture including threat modelling.

Job description

SBA are currently supporting our Central Government client who are seeking a Head of Technical Architecture on an initial 6 month contract.

Location: London (Hybrid)
NB: Applicants located close to Bristol OR Manchester

Skills and experience required:

You will have:

• Experience of designing (as well as launching) technical architectures for AI enabled digital products
• A passion for technology and its delivery in building a user-centric service in an ever-changing space, ensuring the right technology solutions meet outcomes for our users
• Strong software development and application architecture experience, with good knowledge of cloud technologies, open-source technologies, testing
• An understanding of how to influence, manage and challenge complex stakeholder relationships and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience of developing and managing high performing, agile, technical teams and creating an inclusive, collaborative culture across boundaries and locations
• Practical knowledge at all levels of the modern serverless technology stacks, from front-end code down to infrastructure and networking
• A deep understanding of modern technology practices such as test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration, continuous delivery and DevOps
• A good knowledge of cloud security architecture, including threat modelling, analysis and operations
• Experience developing and implementing technical strategy and standards
