Job summary

Summer-Browning Associates are supporting our Central Government client in London with a Head of Technical Architecture on a 6-month contract. Hybrid working arrangement; applicants near Bristol or Manchester considered for travel flexibility.

You will design and launch AI-enabled digital product architectures, lead high-performing agile teams, ensure robust cloud/security practices, and shape technical strategy and standards across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Experience designing AI-enabled digital product architectures.
• Delivery-focused technology approach for user-centric services.
• Strong software development and application architecture with cloud/open-source knowledge.
• Ability to influence and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Experience leading high-performing agile technical teams across locations.
• Knowledge of modern serverless stacks from frontend to infra.
• Understanding of TDD, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of cloud security architecture, threat modelling and operations.
• Experience developing technical strategy and standards.
• Active SC clearance required before start date.

SBA are currently supporting our Central Government client who are seeking a Head of Technical Architecture on an initial 6 month contract.

Location: London (Hybrid)

NB: Applicants located close to Bristol OR Manchester

Skills and experience required:

You will have:

• Experience of designing (as well as launching) technical architectures for AI enabled digital products
• A passion for technology and its delivery in building a user-centric service in an ever-changing space, ensuring the right technology solutions meet outcomes for our users
• Strong software development and application architecture experience, with good knowledge of cloud technologies, open-source technologies, testing
• An understanding of how to influence, manage and challenge complex stakeholder relationships and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience of developing and managing high performing, agile, technical teams and creating an inclusive, collaborative culture across boundaries and locations
• Practical knowledge at all levels of the modern serverless technology stacks, from front-end code down to infrastructure and networking
• A deep understanding of modern technology practices such as test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration, continuous delivery and DevOps
• A good knowledge of cloud security architecture, including threat modelling, analysis and operations
• Experience developing and implementing technical strategy and standards
