Job summary

b3 jobs ltd in London is seeking an experienced Head of Technical to lead the technical function in a high-care food manufacturing environment. You will ensure products meet internal and external specifications and manage technical risk.

Reporting to senior management, you will develop the technical team, drive HACCP compliance, lead audits and engage key customers' technical representatives to maintain confidence in our standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a senior technical position within high-care/high-risk food manufacturing.
• Excellent working knowledge of HACCP and BRC/Salsa regulations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead HACCP site and risk evaluation; implement controls for new processes/products/materials.
• Oversee technical audits and close out non-conformances.

About the Head of Technical job

Reporting into senior management, as the Head of Technical you will be key member of the team managing the technical function and ensuring that the company`s products are manufactured to standards that meet or exceed all agreed internal or external specifications.

Key tasks

• Lead, develop and coach the technical team to perform their roles effectively and maintain current technical knowledge of changes, challenges, risks, and business issues.
• To lead and fully understand the site HACCP and be involved in the evaluation of risk and defining controls, prior to the introduction of a new process, product, or raw material. To ensure that the requirements of HACCP are implemented, maintained, and achieved.
• Lead the business with management of technical audits, hosting audits as appropriate. Manage response & close out of non-conformance reports from audits as required.
• Identify and promote technical business improvement practices to deliver legal compliance and competitive advantage whilst driving functional improvements.
• Develop strong relationships with the technical representatives of our key customers to build and maintain their confidence in the company’s technical standards.

About You

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior technical position within high-care / high-risk food manufacturer.
• Excellent working knowledge of HACCP and BRC/Salsa Regulations.
• Effective communication skills and experience of building and maintaining relationships with customers.

More details

The Head of Technical job is based in London and is paying £70,000 - £80,000 according to your experience.

The package includes discounted products, medical insurance and pension.

The working hours are Monday – Friday, office hours.
