Head of Teaching & Learning
  • Annual Salary: £44,130.70
  • Location: Weybridge
  • Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a Head of Teaching & Learning to join for a fantastic college to join their Quality & Standards Team. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvements in teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring all students achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader and an experienced teaching and learning practitioner.
Day-to-day of the role:
  • Act as a role model for all staff and students, embodying the College's core values.
  • Lead a comprehensive programme of learning visits, providing impactful feedback and ensuring each teacher has a personalised development plan.
  • Manage a team of Teaching & Learning Developers to deliver exemplary teaching and learning through tailored teacher development and continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Collaborate with the Director of Teaching & Learning and other leaders to promote high-quality pedagogy across all curriculum areas.
  • Champion the adoption and skilled use of digital tools and strategies to enhance teaching and learning quality.
  • Maintain a robust system for monitoring and evaluating teaching, learning, and assessment quality.
  • Develop and co-deliver Teacher Training programmes, ensuring compliance with all administrative procedures.
  • Establish effective links with universities and employers to promote curriculum and professional development.
  • Support in Ofsted inspections and other evaluations, ensuring effective communication across the college.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
  • PGCE/Certificate in Education or equivalent.
  • Level 2 English and Maths, or willingness to obtain within one year.
  • Proven experience in a senior/management role within an educational environment.
  • Outstanding teaching and learning skills with a deep understanding of what constitutes excellent teaching and assessment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technologies in education.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage change effectively.
  • Knowledge of contemporary curriculum and assessment developments and the education development agenda.
