Director - Eximius Finance (Accounting and Finance recruitment)

A high-growth Fintech business that has expanded from 5BN to 20BN AUM over recent years is seeking a Head of Tax due to growth. The role involves working 3 to 4 days a week in the office in Central London.

The responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the organization’s direct tax liabilities, including preparing tax filings and declarations. Additionally, the role manages the global indirect tax advisory team. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, develop and implement effective tax strategies, and advise on the impacts of changes in tax legislation. This is an opportunity to own and shape the company's tax strategy.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Managing internal teams and external relationships related to income tax filings and tax controversy support.
  2. Serving as the primary contact with HMRC and Irish Revenue.
  3. Managing and reviewing accounting for income tax calculations under US GAAP and IFRS.
  4. Acting as the main contact for regional management, new product approvals, transaction-related tax considerations, and external tax advisors.
  5. Overseeing regional tax risks and the control framework, including reputational risks.
  6. Providing advice on regional indirect tax calculations, including UK PESM.
  7. Serving as the primary tax contact and chief tax advisor for activities within the region.
  8. Fostering a culture of talent development and teamwork to meet business objectives.
Skills/Experience required:
  1. Experience in financial services, ideally in a high-growth or scale-up environment.
  2. Willingness to be involved in all aspects of the tax function and apply knowledge across various initiatives.
  3. Experience working closely with CFO and CEO on tax strategy.
  4. Experience with process improvement and digital efficiencies.
  5. Strong UK and Ireland income tax technical knowledge, international tax experience, VAT knowledge, and transfer pricing expertise.
  6. Experience managing teams across multiple countries and time zones.
  7. Excellent communication and analytical skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  8. Ability to operate independently and drive continuous improvement.
  9. Relevant experience in financial services and familiarity with HMRC and Irish Revenue.
