As part of the SPW Finance team, reporting into the CFO, you will be responsible for all tax matters that affect the SPW Group and its range of UK OEICs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Governance: Implementing the groups tax strategy and tax policy to optimise the groups tax position, appropriately manage tax risks, and maintain a strong relationship with HMRC and all SPW’s stakeholders.
- Tax Compliance:Complete and manage the preparation and submission of corporate tax & VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with all tax obligations.
- Funds Tax Management:Oversight and management of all tax matters relating to the group's range of UK OEIC’s, including structuring, compliance, and reporting.
- Advisory:Provide tax advice to senior management and business units on various tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, fund reorganisations, product development, client communications, transfer pricing, employment taxes, corporate tax and VAT.
- Risk Management:Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensuring robust internal controls and governance.
- Team Leadership:Lead and develop the tax team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Stakeholder Engagement:Liaise with external advisors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and the timely resolution of tax issues.
- Strategic Tax Planning:Develop and implement tax strategies to optimise the group's tax position, ensuring compliance with UK tax laws and regulations.
Qualifications and preferred experience:
- Education:Bachelors degree plus ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or equivalent.
- Experience:Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior tax role, preferably within a large corporate or financial services environment.
- Skills:Strong technical knowledge of UK tax laws, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly. Experience using Alphatax, GVRT, Workday helpful.
- Leadership:Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Interpersonal Skills:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
