Location: Bristol (hybrid working) | Clearance: SC (or willing to obtain)

Are you a senior systems engineering expert looking to lead some of the UK’s most complex and high-impact defence projects?

A well-established consultancy trusted by government clients to deliver critical programmes is recruiting a Head of Systems & Supportability Engineering. The role involves setting strategic direction, growing the team, and making a significant impact from day one.

The Role:

Leading a team of talented engineers, you will shape how they support government programmes, set vision, develop capabilities, and ensure the delivery of high-quality work, including requirements management, systems architecture, logistics, and MBSE.

As part of the leadership team, you will collaborate across departments to shape strategy, support business development, mentor junior staff, grow your team, and oversee complex technical projects.

What You’ll Bring:

• Extensive experience in systems engineering, ILS, MBSE, and engineering governance
• Knowledge of UK MOD processes (URDs, SRDs, CONUSE, ITEAP, etc.)
• Familiarity with tools like DOORS or Dimensions RM
• Experience working within the UK public sector, especially defence
• Collaborative, flexible, and hands-on approach
• Strong stakeholder and team leadership skills
