Head of Systems & Supportability Engineering

Location: Bristol (hybrid working) | Clearance: SC (or willing to obtain)

Are you a senior systems engineering expert looking to lead some of the UK’s most complex defence projects?

A well-established consultancy trusted by government clients is recruiting a Head of Systems & Supportability Engineering. This role involves setting strategic direction, growing the team, and making a significant impact from day one.

The Role:

Leading a team of engineers, you will shape how they support government programmes, set vision, develop capabilities, and ensure delivery of high-quality work across requirements management, systems architecture, logistics, and MBSE.

As part of the leadership team, you will collaborate across departments to shape strategy, support business development, mentor junior staff, and oversee complex technical projects.

What You’ll Bring:

• Extensive experience in systems engineering, ILS, MBSE, and engineering governance
• Knowledge of UK MOD processes (URDs, SRDs, CONUSE, ITEAP, etc.)
• Familiarity with tools like DOORS or Dimensions RM
• Experience in delivering projects within the UK defence sector
• Collaborative, flexible, and hands-on approach
• Strong stakeholder and team leadership skills
