Job Opportunity: Head of Surgical Services

An exceptional independent private hospital near Central London, part of one of the UK's leading healthcare providers, is seeking a dedicated Head of Surgical Services. Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified Registered Nurse with a current active NMC Pin or hold an active HCPC Registration

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide professional leadership across theatres, endoscopy, and recovery, ensuring proper support structures
2. Oversee equipment management, processes, training, and staff competency in the Minor Procedures Suite in OPD
3. Ensure continuous quality improvement and professional nursing standards
4. Develop and evaluate policies reflecting patient safety and quality standards, ensuring staff ownership
5. Implement systems for quality monitoring, audits, complaints, and incident management
6. Set personal training objectives aligned with personal development plans in collaboration with staff and management
7. Maintain skills and knowledge relevant to the Head of Surgical Services role
8. Ensure purchasing decisions are cost-effective and clinically appropriate
9. Manage equipment replacement and identify needs in line with strategic goals

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in cardiac, elderly care, orthopaedics, or medical courses
• Involvement in project management, quality improvement, audits, and standards setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Confident, adaptable, and role-modeling leadership style
