Anord Mardix has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Supply Chain – UK, based in our Kendal office. The Head of Supply Chain will oversee the organization’s overall supply chain strategy, including tactical buying, logistics, warehousing, and operations, to maximize efficiency and productivity.
What a typical day looks like:
- Ensure the supply chain structure is adequate and robust to service the needs of the business and customers in all operational situations.
- Drive and control the overall supply chain process with a focus on productivity and continuous improvement, monitoring activity with a supply chain scorecard through relevant KPIs.
- Ensure statistical and collaborative forecasting to optimize reliability.
- Lead the purchasing process for logistics needs in coordination with the purchasing department.
- Manage data analysis to strategize ways to reduce cycle time and improve efficiency.
- Review or update supply chain practices according to environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
- Optimize transportation routes and warehousing/distribution strategies for cost efficiency.
- Diagram supply chain models to facilitate discussions with customers.
- Develop material cost forecasts or standard cost lists.
- Assess material handling equipment needs and staffing levels.
- Evaluate vendor manufacturing capabilities through on-site visits.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
- Monitor supplier performance to meet quality and delivery requirements.
- Review forecasts and quotas to identify changes affecting supply chain activities.
- Manage integration of new projects into supply planning, aligning production, resources, inventory, and financial variables.
- Establish and propose methods to optimize resources and costs while achieving targets.
- Lead reviews of production volumes and assumptions.
- Conduct supply meetings to review supply/demand balances and inventory projections.
- Review business performance against KPIs for production, customer service, and inventory management.
- Ensure procedures and processes are fit for purpose and aligned with best practices.
- Lead and develop the local supply chain management team.
- Collaborate with peers across sites and globally in supply chain functions.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Degree in business or engineering with 8+ years of experience in project management and supply chain operations.
- Proven success in continuous improvement within change environments.
- Operational efficiency delivery in manufacturing/supply chain businesses over £150m.
- International and domestic experience in demanding roles.
- Strong relationship-building skills at a senior level.
- Track record of operational performance improvement.
- Leadership in managing multiple change programs.
- Team coordination and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Engineering background preferred.
- Ability to switch from strategic to operational focus.
- Experience managing demanding customers and multisite operations.
