Job description

Portfolio Procurement are recruiting for a Head of Supply Chain for our leading Essex based client.


The Role :


As Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for leading an exceptional Supply Chain to our global customers. My client is looking for a motivated leader, who is passionate about driving improvement in Supply Chain best practice, and who has experience in managing a large team.


Responsibilities will include:

  1. Accountability for global demand and supply planning and forecasting processes.
  2. Ensuring that business planning and forecasting data is correct and supplied in a timely manner to ensure efficient planning.
  3. Leadership and development of the Supply Chain Planning, warehouse, and Logistics teams.
  4. Optimising the end-to-end supply chain to maximise performance in inventory management, lead time and OTD.
  5. Capacity planning activities across the business in close collaboration with business streams and functions.
  6. Timely provision of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and business analysis.
  7. Optimization of inbound material scheduling to ensure it is in line with business requirements and inventory target.

To be successful in this role you must be/have:

  1. Demonstrable experience with cutting edge S&OP methods and ideas.
  2. Previous experience managing a Supply Chain team.
  3. Previous experience in S&OP planning and process improvement.
  4. Manufacturing experience.
  5. Degree or equivalent experience in relevant Operations, Engineering or Business Administration field.
  6. Demonstrable experience of driving efficiencies and improvement throughout a business.
  7. Be able to show a commercially and customer facing focus.
  8. Be able to show a collaborative and inclusive team-based way of working.
  9. Be capable of introducing new ways of working and driving innovation through the business at pace.
  10. Able to work at pace under pressure.
  11. ERP experience.
