About The Role:

The Crowd have partnered with a leading architecture studio that has a strong reputation in their sector across the country. They are looking for a commercially minded Head of Studio Operations to lead their Manchester team.

The role will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the studio and its projects run seamlessly. You will provide strategic, commercial and financial oversight, ensuring the studio and its projects are running at an optimal level. Our client is looking for a positive, motivational leader who thrives on bringing out the best in others. In this role, you’ll inspire and foster a supportive and high-energy environment where collaboration, accountability, and results go hand in hand. Your ability to lead with confidence and clarity will be key to driving performance and achieving shared success.

This is a varied and pivotal role within the company. The ideal candidate will have experience in architecture, construction or the built environment, along with strong proficiency in operational management and strategic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the studio, ensuring efficiency across the board
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to implement strategic and commercial goals for the business
  • Manage recruitment and staffing levels to ensure the studio is operating at optimum capacity
  • Along with the team leaders, oversee staff development and training, ensuring engagement and motivation are upheld
  • Oversee the financial health of the studio and provide insight to the leadership team on overall performance
  • Ensure the studio is statutory and regulatory compliant
  • Support the wider leadership team with input on the growth and development of the studio, including identifying commercial and business development opportunities, and contributing to bids and submissions
  • Provide reporting, commentary, and key performance metrics of the studio for review with the senior leadership team
  • Attend relevant industry events

Key Skills/Requirements:

  • Previous experience leading a mid-sized team within architecture, design, or the built environment
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with budgeting and forecasting experience on projects
  • Strategic and commercially minded
  • Positive and motivational, with the ability to drive a team to success
  • Strong problem solver and resourceful
  • Excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills
  • Able to devise and implement effective processes and procedures
