Head of Special Educational Needs (Care Farm)

Position: Head of Special Educational Needs (Care Farm)

Reporting to: Director of Specialist Services

Location: SweetTree Fields Farm - Mill Hill (137 Marsh Ln, London NW7 4EY)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm. 37.5 hours weekly.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

The Role

We seek a passionate Head of Farm Services to lead our care farm in Mill Hill, promoting education, care, and connection with the natural environment. If you have a background in SEN, outdoor enthusiasm, and a desire to make a difference, consider joining us.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily farm operations and manage the farm team.
  • Develop and expand services in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver educational and developmental programs for clients and visitors.
  • Manage budgets, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Create outreach activities in farming, horticulture, crafts, conservation, and cooking.
  • Lead educational group activities and promote the farm in the community.
  • Ensure the welfare of farm livestock and maintain compliance with safety and land use regulations.
  • Manage grants, volunteering, and act as a backup for farm staff.
  • Represent the farm in meetings and stakeholder engagements.
  • Uphold client dignity, diversity, confidentiality, and data protection.
Eligibility Criteria

Proven experience in SEN or care, team management, outdoor or farm-based settings, project collaboration, relevant qualifications, and supporting individuals with diverse needs. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and literacy skills, plus knowledge of health and safety, are essential. Willingness to work outdoors in a practical setting is required.
