Job summary

Sky Business Technology (SBT) seeks a senior engineering leader to drive platform evolution across Sky's customer management and billing ecosystems. You will set the engineering strategy, raise standards, and guide design, build, test, release and operations to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient services.

Working with Architecture, Product, Delivery and Operations, you will unleash the Salesforce-based platform and enable AI capabilities at scale, shaping solutions that delight Sky Business

Qualifications

• Experience in customer management, billing, subscription, provisioning, data or integration platforms.
• Experience leading engineering with the Salesforce platform.
• Senior engineering leader with platform transformation background.
• Able to lead teams through ambiguity, change, prioritisation challenges.
• Strong coach and mentor, developing technical, leadership and delivery capability across teams.
• Builds inclusive, collaborative, learning, high-performing cultures focused on accountability and improvement.
• Experience in complex environments where availability, scale, security and customer impact matter.
• Strong grounding in software engineering, systems integration, SDLC, automation, release and operations.
• Comfortable working with strategic partners, system integrators and mixed delivery models.
• Strong experience of agile, scaled delivery and modern operating models.
• Proven track record in platform modernisation, legacy reduction, technical debt and sustainable roadmaps.

Team Overview

Sky Business Technology (SBT) is part of Sky's UK CTO organisation and is responsible for delivering Sky's omnichannel customer management and billing services for B2B propositions, products and customers via reliable, scalable and innovative platforms. Sky Business is one of Sky's targeted growth sectors.

This is a pivotal new leadership role supporting the Director of Software Engineering by bringing consistency, accountability and technical excellence to platform evolution. The role will help shape how Sky Business builds, integrates, tests, operates and continuously improves its software platforms during a period of significant transformation and growth. The role will focus on platform modernisation, engineering standards, technical design integrity and the adoption of modern engineering practices that enable secure, scalable, resilient and cost-effective customer-facing platforms. Focus will be on driving exploitation of the Salesforce platform, leveraging out-of-the-box capabilities and reuse of existing capabilities to deliver solutions that underpin the delivery of product and customer journeys across Sky Business to delight customers.

Platform comprises the core hardware and software components that provide the capabilities to build, maintain and support Sky Business Products, Services and Customer Journeys. The BusinessOS platform comprises of Salesforce CRM, Billing and the integration services that support both internal and external access to the overall BusinessOS "platform".
