Job summary

This is an exciting fixed-term secondment opportunity within the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Integrated Care Board (ICB) for a Band 8c Head of Social and Economic Development to work with the Director of Policy, Involvement and Stakeholder Affairs. The role involves leading an innovative portfolio aimed at benefiting the communities served by the ICB.

Main duties of the job

As one of only three Health and Growth Accelerator sites in the county, NENC ICB is leading a £20M government-funded programme to address health-related barriers to employment. The postholder will support the development of a work and health strategy, working with partners such as DWP, local, and combined authorities to achieve the programme's goals.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential)

  • Masters Degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience
  • Relevant professional qualification
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

Experience (Essential)

  • Senior management experience in commissioning social care, health, or relevant sectors
  • Experience managing budgets and negotiating service agreements
  • Knowledge of public, patient, and service user involvement
  • Experience working across organizational boundaries within an integrated model
  • Experience developing innovative, cost-effective strategies
  • Experience motivating senior teams and monitoring progress
