Join to apply for the Head of Social and Community role at Blue Light Card.

We have an exciting opportunity for a strategic and creative Head of Social and Community to join our growing Brand & Communications team. You’ll be responsible for defining and executing the social media strategy and fostering meaningful relationships with our members.

This leadership role combines strategic and operational responsibilities, ideal for someone who blends empathy, creativity, and data-driven decision-making, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.

Our Marketing function drives our brand and member engagement, connecting with the Blue Light community in impactful ways. We aim to inspire, engage, and build lasting relationships and memories.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy, identify target audiences, platform-specific approaches, and leverage analytics to refine strategies.
  • Build and nurture online communities, respond to engagement, and develop advocacy among followers.
  • Create campaigns, events, and activities that increase participation, and develop online and offline initiatives to grow community engagement.
  • Lead the social media team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and performance.
  • Partner with the Head of Content Marketing to oversee content creation and management across platforms.
  • Drive influencer and ambassador strategies, including identification, outreach, collaboration, and measurement.
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, emerging technologies, and competitor activity.
  • Manage sensitive issues, monitor brand sentiment, and work with PR/legal teams to protect the brand’s reputation.
What You’ll Bring
  • Extensive experience in social media marketing, with leadership experience in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of community engagement, moderation policies, and social dynamics.
  • Deep knowledge of social platforms’ strengths, formats, and audience behaviors.
  • Experience with social media management and analytics tools, and executing paid campaigns.
  • Strong storytelling and creative strategy skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with attention to tone and brand voice.
  • Experience managing budgets and external partners or agencies.
  • Proficiency with community platforms and engagement tools; experience in membership-based or purpose-driven organizations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing platforms is preferred.
