The role can be based in Glasgow or London, with a national scope.

Role Overview

The Head of Services will oversee operational service delivery related to building automation, energy management, smart monitoring, and maintenance. This role requires a leader with a strong customer focus, operational expertise, and a background in SaaS and data platforms, capable of interpreting technical insights and refining service offerings based on data-driven decisions.

Key activities

  1. Lead operational service delivery across the organization.
  2. Oversee service delivery post-technology deployments (e.g., BMS, IoT), ensuring effective maintenance, data analysis, and insights.
  3. Manage maintenance field engineering and remote operations centers (based in Glasgow), aligning with service objectives.
  4. Develop data-driven service offerings to enhance energy management, automation, and sustainability.
  5. Engage with clients to understand needs, deliver insights, and build long-term partnerships.
  6. Collaborate with technical teams on data analytics, automation trends, and digital transformation.
  7. Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring profitability and excellence.
  8. Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and promote safety culture.
  9. Work with cross-functional teams including projects, pre-sales, and IT.
  10. Drive innovation in the service model to position Equans UK as a leader in digital solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven leadership in energy or technical services sectors.
  • Strong SaaS and data platform experience with analytics expertise.
  • Ability to interpret technical data from BMS, IoT, and energy systems.
  • Commercial acumen in business development, contract negotiation, and client engagement.
  • Expertise in smart monitoring, automation, and energy solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, innovative mindset with data-driven service refinement skills.
  • Financial skills in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Industry background in energy consultancy, SaaS/software, or OEMs preferred.
  • Relevant degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Management, or related fields.
  • Professional qualifications like CEng, NEBOSH, IOSH, or PRINCE2 are desirable.
