Head of Service – Complex and Critical Care Services

Location - Fife Council - Fife House - a blended work style arrangement applies, allowing flexibility in working from home and working base, to meet the demands of the post.

NHS - Lynebank Hospital. The post holder is expected to work between both bases

Hours - NHS 37 hours per week

Fife Council 36 hours per week

Salary - Local Government CO37, £109,285

NHS Board AFC Band 8D, £103, 764 - £108,206

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Service to join the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership to provide both operational management and strategic leadership for Complex and Critical Care Services as a core member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Fife Health and Social Care Partnership is one of the larger Health and Social Care Partnerships in Scotland, serving the diverse Kingdom of Fife on Scotland’s stunning East coast. We provide health and social care to a population of more than 380,000 people and lead a workforce of around 7,000 staff. We support a Team Fife approach with NHS Fife, Fife Council, the independent and voluntary sectors.

The Post Holder Will Become a Member Of The Senior Leadership Team And Report Directly To The Director Of Health And Social Care. You Will Have Line Management Responsibility And Be Accountable For Managing, Developing And Providing Leadership To The Following Services Across Fife Within The Health And Social Care Partnership

  • Adult and Older Adult Mental Health (Hospital and Community)
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health
  • Learning Disability (Hospital, Community and Regional Unit)
  • Psychology Residential Care Homes (Fife Council)
  • Adult and Older Social Work
  • Deaf Communication Service
  • Adult Resources
  • Addictions Services including Alcohol and Drugs Partnership (ADP)
  • Adult Protection

You will have transferable skills to lead Integrated Teams working across organisational boundaries. You will be committed to the delivery of the outcomes of integration for the people of Fife and strive for excellence in both quality and person centred care through our strategic plan.

We are looking to appoint a driven and inspiring individual who has the ability to manage and lead complex transformation and deliver wide ranging and sustainable service improvements.

As a team player you will be committed to collaboration and partnership working whilst ensuring the highest standards of strategic and operational management, working closely with both the Senior and Extended Leadership team.

Short listed candidates will be required to participate in a range of assessment activities including behavioural profiling, a real play exercise (with stakeholders), delivering a presentation and a values /competency based interview. These activities will all contribute to testing candidate competence.
