Job summary

Sheer Jobs Ltd is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Service for the Children in Our Care, Care Leavers and Disabled Children and Young People's Teams within a local authority. Reporting to the Director of Children's Services, the postholder will lead these services, strengthen partnerships with health colleagues, and support stabilisation and transformation during the temporary recruitment phase.

Pay Rate: £(Apply online only)/ Day

Length of Assignment: 4 months, with a potential to extend

Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Service - Children in Our Care, Care Leavers & Disabled Children and Young People's Services to provide leadership and stability whilst the permanent recruitment process is completed.

Reporting to the Director of Children's Services, the postholder will lead Children in Care, Leaving Care, Corporate Parenting and Disabled Children's Services, whilst supporting the authority's Families First, reunification and service improvement agenda.

The client is looking for a credible and values-led senior leader with significant experience across Children in Care, safeguarding, permanence and care leaver services. The successful candidate will need strong partnership skills, particularly with health colleagues, and the ability to navigate complex placement sufficiency, SEND and funding challenges.
