HC-One, a leading care home provider, seeks a compassionate Head of Service in North Shields. This full-time role involves preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining food safety, and managing kitchen operations with a resident-centered approach. Your responsibilities include preparing and serving nutritious, healthy meals that residents will love, assisting with morning tea and dessert preparations, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. You will also be responsible for managing food supplies, fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters on equipment, and ensuring a clean environment, always with resident well-being in mind.
We seek someone with kitchen experience who is familiar with The Food Safety Act 1990, The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR, and COSHH regulations. Strong record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with residents and colleagues, you should be considerate and kind — after all, it’s in your nature.
