About your team

The Chief Customer Office (CCO) drives growth across Centrica Retail by focusing on customer experience and compelling product and service propositions.

We’re seeking a passionate and strategic Head of SEO to drive organic growth for our brands. You’ll work across all UK Centrica retail brands, including British Gas and Hive, developing onsite growth strategies to attract more customers effectively through SEO and SEM.

About your role

This role enhances our online presence and ensures content reaches the right audience. Responsibilities include developing and implementing SEO strategies, managing in-house and agency teams, and collaborating across departments to meet business goals. A key focus is to build in-house SEO capabilities to reduce reliance on external agencies.

What will you be doing?

• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute SEO strategies to improve search rankings and drive traffic to British Gas and Hive websites.
• Identify Opportunities: Conduct keyword research and content analysis for optimisation and new content creation.
• Technical SEO: Oversee technical aspects like site architecture, crawlability, and indexation.
• Collaborate: Work with content creators to embed SEO best practices.
• Performance reporting: Monitor website performance using SEO tools and analytics, providing insights to stakeholders.
• Stay updated: Keep abreast of SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices.
• Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of three SEO specialists, supporting their professional development.
• Growth alignment: Coordinate with marketing, product, and development teams to align SEO efforts with business objectives.

Qualifications:

Proven track record in driving organic growth and search ranking improvements, deep technical SEO expertise, proficiency in tools like Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and leadership capabilities.
