Head of Senior Asset Backed Lending, Executive Director
The Head of Senior Asset Based Lending (ABL) is a key structuring role within Mizuho EMEA's CIB Structured Financing Group, leading the establishment and build of a cross EMEA ABL platform to support the structuring and execution of corporate and CRE related funds financing structures in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Mizuho seeks growth across all structured financing product and the Head of Senior ABL will be primarily responsible for the ABL strategy and revenue KPIs, helping establish Mizuho as a funds financing leader in EMEA
- Lead the client origination activities for ABL, partnering with coverage colleagues across EMEA to provide ABL solutions, a natural focus on those clients with fund level borrowing needs secured on their debt investments
- Lead pitching activities and ABL negotiations with clients and counterparties
- Act as the senior stakeholder for the ABL franchise, managing internal and external stakeholders to build a product strategy roadmap
- Acting as a first line of defence undertaking transaction risk assessment and supporting internal approval processes
- Maintain up to date knowledge of market trends, fund structures and regulatory developments
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of best practices across the team
Dual Hat Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsibilities will straddle both Mizuho International (MHI) and Mizuho Bank (MHBK)
- Adhere to the Dual Hat Policies & Procedures which set out the permitted activities and ensure you conduct yourself accordingly, when acting in a dual hat capacity
- Responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs, between MHI and MHBK, escalating where required
Dual Hat Authority
- Adhere to the Group's Dual Hat Policies & Procedures, regulatory and compliance obligations and any other applicable policies made available to you, and as updated from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' direct experience in ABL-type structuring with experience of growing an ABL-type platform
- Preferably product distribution experience, either primary syndication or fronting of facilities; single name and portfolio credit analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Customer-centric career experience
- Demonstrable ability to innovate, support change and problem solve
- Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance

- Strong decision-making skills to efficiently delegate tasks
- Motivate the team to complete tasks to a high standard
