Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced, creative and ambitious leader to head the Statutory Assessment Service within SEND. This role will shape and transform statutory SEND services, ensuring timely and legally compliant EHC assessments and EHCPs that make a meaningful difference to children and families across the council.

• Significant experience of SEND statutory processes.
• Track record leading change and improving outcomes for children and families.
• Ability to build and sustain effective partnerships with schools, health, care and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Statutory Assessment Team to deliver a high‑quality, legally compliant service
• Drive service improvement and embrace innovative ways of working
• Collaborate with schools, families, children, young people, health and care partners and wider stakeholders
• Use data and performance information to improve timeliness, quality and outcomes
• Support the delivery of the ambitious SEND Reform Programme
